PP (Polypropylene) is a non toxic lightweight polyolefin and has proven to be an excellent material with chemical resistant that suitable for laboratory and industrial drainage pipe where mixtures of acids, bases and solvents are involved. Polypropylene is well known of its tough and flexible characteristic, especially when copolymerized with ethylene. Polypropylene can be made translucent when uncoloured, however it is not readily made transparent as polystyrene, acrylic, or certain other plastics.

There are several benefits of polypropylene. It is excellent resistance to stress and high resistant to cracking. It has high operational temperatures with a melting point of 160°C. It is highly resistant to most alkalis and acid, organic solvents, degreasing agents and electrolytic attack. However, it is less resistance to aromatic, aliphatic and chlorinated solvents and UV. Polypropylene is also easy to produce, assembly and an economic material.
